Yes a real Cheese, Onion and Potato Pasty, just as you can buy in the UK. It is thought that this pasty originated in the North West of England. The onions are sautéed in butter, and then we steam the potatoes, make a rich cheese sauce using the Mainland’s 18 month old cheddar cheese, and add a touch of sundried tomatoes. We then wrap it all up in a home-made short crust pastry using butter and lard. I even render/make the lard in my kitchen at The Kitchen Door. Now we can all relax knowing that we have no nasty chemical or preservatives in our pasties.
